Tonight, i colour not, but PAINT

Not soft, gentle drips and drabs, nor little flicks of the brush....but BOLD handfuls of colour, SPLASHED upon the canvas!! No soft pinks, no subtle greens, no delicate salmons or sweet taupes NO !!! It is a riotous haberdash of colours, passionate RED vibrant BLUE, royal PURPLE scooped up and THROWN upon the canvas with reckless abandon!! Swirling, twirling mixtures of colour...glorious and free...colour and love and lust..drowning in it...loving it....FEELING the colours...BEING the colours..magnificent and timeless. The painting a dance, which i throw myself into...all of me...becoming one with the painting...colour in my hair...my naked body, i become the canvas...rolling on it, reveling in it, til saturation comes....and i fall, softly

my intro......a misnomer

i've been inspired by Shy to really take a look at myself, and this whole...."blogging" business as it relates to openess, and emotional availability. Well, as least as it pertains to myself.

i look at the intro to my blog and think....what really, have i decided to share? Sure, i blog periodically about stuff, but it's usually very surface or silly, and yes while i may find it interesting, or an expression of my interests....what really about me have i shared? truly?

i have read blogs here on Alt that have made me cry so that the tears were dripping onto my keyboard, and ones that have made me laugh out loud, ones that have made me go...uhhhh, ummmm, okaaay, now thats a lil scary. Blog's that have made me feel intimately connected to the writer, and oh so many that have made me think, a few that have made me mad. Sometimes i just roll my eyes at the things written, and other times i leave a comment or two. Sometimes i pass by quietly just leaving an electronic footprint. i've read blogs that have made me question whether or not i was submissive enough, and one's that validated i was right where i'm supposed to be. i have learned much, much more than i ever though possible about myself and the human condition, and i want to thank T/those brave enough to share T/themselves with the rest of U/us.

So where then, does that leave me? It is possible, that the universe is unfolding just as it's supposed to and i am where i'm supposed to be, but then why do i feel so dissatisfied sometimes? why do i want to be further along in my journey? to know more,.....to be more?

i'm not looking for validation of my writings or of myself....just more along the lines of thinking out loud. i think this was a good start.

JAZIL!!!

Jazil comes from waaaaaaaaaay off the pace to win the Belmont Stakes. A magnificent ride by Fernando Jara, a mere colt himself at only 18 years old. A very patient and mature ride by this jockey. Did Y/you see that move at the top of the backstretch? Amazing!!! Jazil came flying down the stretch after picking his way through most of the field. To bad for Pletcher and Bluegrass Cat, as his Triple crown drought continues, but congratulations to Jazil and his connections.

Can't wait til the Breeders Cup!!

Ah yes, the third jewel of the Triple Crown, does it lack luster this year? Does the lack of Barbaro and Bernardini lessen the impact of this prestigious Grade I race? It is, after all one of the American Classics, fielded by the best of the best 3 year olds around. At a mile and a half in length, it is truly the "Test of a Champion". Amazing amounts of stamina will be required for these youngsters. Who will have what it takes? i'll be watching, will Y/you? The field for the Belmont Stakes;

1. Platinum Couple
2. Sunriver
3. Hemingway's Key
4. Bob and John
5. High Finance
6. Oh So Awesome
7. Deputy Glitters
8. Jazil
9. Bluegrass Cat
10. Double Galore
11. Steppenwolfer
12. Sacred Light

Another Triple Crown race, another signature drink; i give Y/you,

The Belmont Breeze

1 1/2 ounces Seagram's 7 (or good, blended American whiskey)

3/4 ounces Harveys Bristol Cream Sherry

1/2 ounces fresh lemon juice

1 ounce Simple Syrup (or substitute 1 ounce sweet and sour mix for the lemon juice and simple syrup).

1 1/2 ounces fresh orange juice

1 1/2 ounces cranberry juice

7-Up

Club Soda

Shake first six ingredients with ice, then top with half 7-Up and half club soda. Garnish with fresh strawberry, mint sprig and lemon wedge.

i think there must be something wrong with me...., or the way i'm presenting myself....or maybe it's just intrinsic.

BERNARDINI

No Triple Crown winner this year, *sighs*, and while Bernardini ran a great race and i am happy for him and his connections, my heart and mind right now are with Barbaro.
Apparently he has broken seismoid bones both above and below his ankle. While surgery is an option for him, if the blood flow has been severely restricted, and the area compromised, he may have to be put down. A sad day indeed. Hopefully he will pull through and live a life of leisure, eating oats and apples and visiting with pretty little fillies who come to make his acquaintance. A foal sired by a Kentucky derby winner is a true prize. It's just to bad W/we will never know what might have been. On to the Belmont now, a chance for Bernardini, as so many others before him, to acquire 2 of the 3 jewels in the Triple Crown.

Will there ever be another Triple Crown winner again?

Another exciting day of racing lies before U/s. Still so many unanswered questions; does Barbaro have what it takes? Will Sweetnorthernsaint, the local boy come and crash his party? Does Diabolical have a chance? Will Brother Derek benefit from the smaller field and better post position?

Oh i LOVE this time of year...gorgeous colts, legs for miles, amazing athletes bred to run for the sheer joy of it. The look of eagles, all Champions have it, along with stamina, heart and that undefinable "something". Who do Y/you like?

The field for the Preakness Stakes:

1. Like Now
2. Platinum Couple
3. Hemingway's Key
4. Greeley's Legacy
5. Brother Derek
6. Barbaro
7. Sweetnorthernsaint
8. Bernardini
9. Diabolical

The official drink of the Preakness,

Black Eyed Susan

one part Finlandia Vodka
one part Appleton Estate V/X Rum
one part Triple Sec
pineapple juice
orange juice

Fill a 12 oz glass with shaved ice.
Add vodka, rum and triple sec
Fill with equal parts orange and pineapple juice
Garnish with a cherry
