The past few months haven't seen much in the way of events, sadly. Work and domestic priorities have prevented hosting numbers of people and the weather really hasn't been hot tub friendly! I've been playing one-to-one, at their homes or hosting in my humble dungeon, and that's been most enjoyable. These are generally not first encounters and I've been able to build on my experiences with them to get things prepared properly and tweak scenes for maximum effect. It really is most gratifying when they ask when the next play session is or reflect on what a pleasing time they had when I check up on them in the days following.
After a barren July, August is not looking terribly promising for events either, although I'll do my best. For some of my regulars my dungeon is their only outlet (time, money, at home, etc.) so no event means no play. For others they prefer the intimacy of a small, non-commercial event with no screeching exhibitionists to dominate the atmosphere. However, I intend to try to get something organised - maybe a barbeque mid-week or warm up the hot tub if the sun makes a re-appearance - because having kit unused seems such a waste, and of course I see the techniques and ideas of others and can learn from them, so as to improve my own play.

Back in action

The first Sensations play event in a fair while was rather successful. Not a huge number of people attended, for various reasons, but those who did enjoyed themselves enormously. A couple of newbies joined a lot of familiar faces and hopefully they'll return. For my part it was great to catch up with friends, some of whom have struggled and for them this was a chance to re-connect and de-stress. One in particular de-stressed rather spectacularly, requesting a routine spanking but encouraging me to progress until she enjoyed multiple orgasms from fingers an wand on the spanking bench. A highlight of a most excellent day!
It was so good that we're doing it again. An evening gathering on December 12th (18-22.00) is more of a munch but the play kit will be available throughout and later in the month we hop to have one of our weekend bashes for people to relax and enjoy a longer timescale.
I've taken December off, so that gives me plenty of time for domestic chores, hobby stuff and some one-to-one encounters. One is already planned but lots of toys and opportunities for more. A very Merry Christmas looms!

Sensations is back

With the dust settling on the pandemic and house renovations (literally in the latter case) it's time to get baqck to some serious fun. One-to-one play has been on-going for a while and I've hosted some delightful ladies but it's only fair to offer everyone the same opportunities. The first Sensations play event is on Sunday 27th November from 10.00 to 18.00. Lots of time to socialise and play, to watch and learn or try things out. Set in a private house in Harrogate, North Yorkshire, it won't be an expansive as the classic commercial events but there won't be the queues for the kit either nor exhibitionists screeching all day or the extreme players leaving bloodied bodies in their wake. Available to use are two St Andrew's crosses (one double-sided for larger scenes), a bondahe/suspension frane, a whipping post, heavy-duty cage, a pillory and two spanking benches. Lots of smaller kit such as restraints, impact play toys, vampire gloves, violet wand, etc. are also on hand. Fuller details are on a rival kink site.

Review of 2020

Well, not much that can be said for 2020 given a certain virus wreaking havoc everywhere. I hosted a couple of parties before the storm broke in March - about a dozen attendees and much fun was had - and then two garden events during the summer lull, where play wasn't possible but catching up was. Otherwise I've been enjoying my 'bubble' playmate once a week usually and working flat out. Three days between Christmas and the New Year has been the longest period off since early January and it's been a blessed break. Such a shame that the time can't be spent with kinky chums but I've been more fortunate than many. I did manage - when the weather was somewhat kinder! - to loan out my garage playroom and dungeon furniture to a local couple who hardly ever escape their for some fun. They enjoyed a precious couple of hours and all it cost me was isolating the garage for three days and wiping things down. Obviously even that isn't possible at present or indeed for the forseeable future.
So what does 2021 look like? Well, there are a number of play plans that have been sitting there waiting to be enacted for some time so hopefully they'll pan out at some point. One girl is hoping to travel from Scotland; I'd especially hate to disappoint her. Locally the Sensations events are eagerly awaited by the usual crowd and, having provisionally booked the second Sunday in April as a return to play-partying, a few new faces may be in attendance. As ever we hope to introduce kinksters to new experiences in unpressured environments. The big commercial events may have the crowds but that's off-putting to some and playing to the gallery is not to everyone's taste. Small steps at their own pace - that's our aim and we hope to build on our existing success. New restraints and small items have been added but we hope to get even more kit before the re-start.
All of this remains Hope rather than Intention, of course. Until we can gather together again I wish everyone a happier New Year than the past one. Unless of course you were one of the serial party animals, ignoring the rules and common sense for the sake of selfishness, in ahich case I hope karma bites hard!

Lockdown easing

So July 4th sees an easing of pandemic restrictions although I still intend being cautious. The first manifestation of this will be opening my garage playspace local households for private seesions, away from thin walls, curious and similar handicaps. My wide assortment of dungeon furniture will also make things somewhat different home and we can have a cuppa and a chinwag afterwards in the garden. days minimum between visitors and deep cleaning every time is a nuisance but - just as in kink - risk assessments and mitigating risks are the only way forward.

Lockdown positives

I'm really rather fortunate at present, since I live with a mildly-kinky wife who works from home; I work in an essential industry- long and tiring hours but I'm out and about in the sunshine and seeing people, albeit at an appropriate distance; I have a fairly large house and garden and lots of kinky toys and furniture with which to practice or plan. Of course I'd love to be hosting my parties or entertaining individual playmates. Of course I want to be visiting them or attending events elsewhere. Of course I want to walk through woods looking for suitable trees and other play environments. I can't though, but that doesn't stop me from planning.
I've always been blessed with a good imagination and there's no doubt that it's being tested at present. I try and stay in contact with my playmates and other guests of my events, since I'm all too aware that not all share my good fortune and some are really struggling with furloughing, isolation, lack of any contact, etc. Sometimes a pleasant distraction is to discuss what we'll get up to when restrictions are lifted and it's safe (er) to mingle. Revisiting favourite scenarios is a given, since we've pretty much perfected some of them. Tweaking less usual scenes is fun but the best of all is coming up wth entirely new ideas - unexplored locations, new variations on dungeon furniture or toy use, role-plays that are yet untapped. Some may never come to fruition but even as an intellectual exercise it's most pleasing. The only downside is not being able to work off that pent-up arousal that is generated!
I'm very happy to steal good ideas from any source, and the virtual and real-life kinky worlds have provided a plethora of scenarios, toys, actions, stimuli and so on. Having a range of playmates, both casual and more intense, means that one or other of them will enjoy the same ideas and so when Lockdown eases oh how much fun we'll have. My focus will be on those who've suffered the most with isolation. Texts and emails are no substitute for a hug, a cuddle, reassurance in person. Or a damn good thrashing and subsequent ravishing!
While I'm fortunate to have variety in my life there's always room for more. Whether extra guests at my Sensations events in Harrogate or casual meets at play events such as Pandora in Leeds or Kinky Kamping: In the Woods, one-off meets to explore specific interests or even a full-blown relationship with vanilla activities as well as kink, I want to explore further and in greater depth. I practice ethical polyamory, so there will always be boundaries of some sort on both sides, but if like-minded folk find each other then let there be fun...
I really didn't plan this blog entry. It's fairly early (much too early to be up on a weekend) and I just started typing. Normally I try and be organised but a little spontaneity is no bad thing. I guess I'm just focusing on how lucky I am and how I try to take advantage of that luck, rather than being complacent. Carpe diem!

New year, same kinkiness

I have a semi-regular playmate, and I've enjoyed the pleasure of her company this year already, and I'm hosting our monthly play party at my house this Sunday where other playmates will be present and keen. I've also been chatting to a new lady - met for drinks briefly and there is definitely mutual attraction. As the new year starts it's time to pause and reflect how fortunate I am. An understanding wife, who also dabbles in kink privately. A regular playmate with overlapping interests. Casual playmates from all sorts of backgrounds but again with overlapping interests (I guess I simply wouldn't play if they didn't overlap, although I do strive to please everyone I play with, even if their kinks are not necessarily my faves). A large-ish house full of toys and dungeon furniture (and what a nuisance to sanitise the place when vanillas visit!). I do work hard at it but to have this opportunity and to continue to enjoy it - that's pretty fortunate. So here I express my gratitude and pledge to make the most of it.

Two social/ events lined up next month. 6th and 20th see me host the usual mix of socialising and networking interspersed with . We've had a of newbies join us of late, adding their skills, experience and warmth to an already-vibrant event. I love it, seeing my dungeon furniture getting plenty of use rather than being kept for a few playmates and of course enjoying the fun and laughter that are hallmarks of every event. we're also hoping to make a road trip to Club Pandora in Leeds on the 25th as they have an open day with free entry to check the place and only a tenner to - no swinger prices! Finally there may be a road trip to the Lakeland House kink festival over the last weekend of the month. A busy month but what a good one!

August play plans

Well, after a busy (work-wise) July hoping that August will see a bit more kink. Two formal play events are lined up - a Sensations play and social event at my house on the th and a trip to HU9 in Hull to help demo metal restraints. Should be fun. Got some private play as well. Shame to have all these toys and dungeon furniture items and no-one to use them on!

Naughty Friday play event, Harrogate

I'm hosting another event on Good Friday, April 19th. Eight hours of frolics and socialising with plenty of dungeon furniture and toys for use. Regular members are attending plus we usually have a few new faces as well. If the weather is kind then the barbeque and hot tub will be in use but even if horrid we still have space and plenty of socialising to do. I love these events (not least because I don't have to travel!) and this one promises to be a good one. I learn new things, meet new people and often get surprised (very pleasantly, I might add) by the regulars.
