Just say no to Thigh Highs

It struck me this morning, as I was reading through some profiles, just how many men mention "thigh highs" as a turn on. My question is - wouldn't you rather see a woman in the REAL thing? A garter belt or corset with REAL stockings attached? I know they are my preference. I know how much SEXIER I feel in the real deal than in the silly thigh highs.
Thoughts?

Oh, it's been a long, long time since I've posted on here! I've come back on the site after about a 1 1/2 yr hiatus. Guess I just wanted to see if there were any new faces, and well, to also see if I could possibly find the One. Yes, my old desires have once again percolated up within me.
So, I was trying to think about what I could write about and lo and behold, I came upon this photo (courtesy of Flickr). I giggled at first, but then I became somewhat introspective. Why? Because I often refer to myself as "not a Barbie"! I am short... I am a little chubby... It seems that so many men my age are looking for a woman who has the body of an 18 year old. Hell, I didn't have the body of an 18 year old when I was 18 so why on earth would I expect to have that at 48??? LOL
Anyway, I guess what I want to say is that I wish people could be a bit more realistic - on here, or on any online dating site.
I'm sure there will be more to come from me on this blog - till then...

Weekend update....

So the weekend was ok... not everything went as I had planned/hoped, but it was enjoyable nonetheless.
So - of all the things I packed... what got "used"??? Here's a rundown:
red satin corset with black velvet inset bra dotted with small rhinestones - NO
black silk stockings - NO
black ankle strap 5" heels - NO
Red pointy toe pumps with 5" heels (ha ha - couldn't decide which I'd want to wear) - YES
Satin opera gloves - NO
Satin blindfold - YES
Set of nylon restraints - YES
4 scarves - NO
Assorted toys and lube - NO
Black silk nightie (comes to top of thigh) with matching floor length robe (an outfit I never photographed myself in... go figure...) - YES
Short denim skirt - NO
Several very low cut t-shirt tops from Victoria's Secret - YES
Jeans - YES
Very Sexy black vneck long sleeve top for evening - YES
Man's white dress shirt - YES
Several push-up bra and panty sets (red, white, black, and a multicolored one too) - YES
We got up there around 11 PM on Friday, but had an enjoyable night anyway. We did something we had talked about for a long time - sometimes it was silly talk, other times it was serious, but on Friday night it was all serious and sensuous... and we both enjoyed it. He blindfolded me, then he restrained me and then he shaved me. I was both nervous and anxious (in a good way.) He treated me with gloves and that put me totally at ease. I sort of like the "new look" although I'm not certain if I shall keep it that way.
Saturday was tough, for he likes to sleep in and I am an early riser. We didn't get out of the suite until 1 PM (oh it was a beautiful suite on the top floor of the hotel - gorgeous view.) Spent the day walking around but it was chilly and raining. Came back to the room and went for a wonerful lobster dinner - I was drinking Bellini's - yummy!
But alas, we didn't get back to the room till late and we were both rather tired from walking, so no dress up for me Saturday night...
tsk tsk. I really did want to wear that red satin corset and everything too - especially the gloves - have never worn them.
Sunday was another bust - again - he slept till noon and I was up since 7. I knew he was very tired from his job and was very pre-occupied with the events coming up this week, so I didn't want to disturb him. When he finally came out of hibernation, I wasn't happy and he knew that, but we did sort of smooth things over. I drove him to the place he needed to be for the upcoming week and he got settled in. We then went for a quick late (as in VERY) lunch and then I brought him back to where he needed to be.
I drove home for the next 2 hours in an odd type of fog. I had a nice time, but something was definitely not right. We enjoy one another's company but we both know there is no hope for a relationship. He and I need to end "whatever" this is, yet for some reason, neither of us can make that break. So, till then, I wait to see what life has in store for me.

Taking a quick getaway weekend - going to Paul Revere-land...chuckles.
Things thrown in my bag:

Going with someone who is relatively new to D/s... more than a friend but not someone with whom I will have a LTR either. I'm looking at it as a small break from reality... I could really use a break... lol
One idea I shared with him was that if the weather is nice, I might only don 2 articles of clothing while walking around town on Saturday - the short denim skirt and one of the very cool tops from Victoria's. I think that would make us both a little crazy throughout the day while being out in the vanilla world! Might just have to take a blanket and go hang out on the Commons for a little afternoon fun - AWAY from the crowds!

Sitting out here on my patio... the sun set about 1/2 hour ago... the air is cool, but it's beautiful out here. A few candles to keep the bugs at bay, and the windchimes sounding out every now and then.
A wonderful night to be shared...now that's a nice thought...

It's been a very busy few weeks for me and I have a few more to get through, but then my life becomes my own again... phew!
Just now i am getting ready for bed (after a very, very long day), and who comes prancing along next to me but my kitty cat. She is amazing... she has brought me more joy than i ever could have imagined. i live alone and she is my saving grace... love her to bits...
i wonder how i ever lived without her in my life before...
(P.S. - this is not a photo of her, but I liked this one to share with everyone)
